For professional Hawaii photographer Carol Oliva, underwater portraits are a special art. Carol began her professional photography career doing surf photography, which she is passionate about. When she began photographing couples, weddings, and families, she wanted to incorporate water in truly unique and artistic ways. For her underwater photography Carol Oliva utilizes a Canon 5DmarkIV camera, with 70mm-200 mm, 24mm-70mm, 16-35 mm set-up with an aquatech housing.
For water photography sessions, clients must be strong swimmers, and be very comfortable in the water! There is great beauty in being weightless, and in the silence of being submerged. The slow motion feeling, resistance of the water, and short amount of time to achieve an excellent shot in one breath make for exciting and dynamic engagement and wedding photographs.
